We have expanded the Aircheckr API with new features and a broader reach. Whether you need data for a specific point in Europe or are looking for historical statistics, the possibilities for integrating air quality data have been extended. You can try this out directly on our website via a demo on the landing page. Of course, the full capabilities of the API are much more extensive and complete.

What has changed?

  • European Air Quality Index (EAQI): We now operate according to the standards of the European Environment Agency (EEA). All API responses now return these standardized values.
  • Coverage Across Europe: You now have access to data for every city, region, or country in Europe, as well as every specific coordinate point on the map via updated European Endpoints:
City Level API: Request aggregated data by name or coordinates for any administrative level in Europe (city, province, region, or country).
Point Level API: Access real-time data for any specific coordinate point on the European continent.

  • Flexible Queries: It is now easier to switch between real-time data, historical records, and air quality forecasts (prognoses).
  • Statistics for Belgium: A new endpoint allows you to dive deeper into the figures, such as bad air quality days, averages, and exceedances in Belgium (2005–2024).
  • Improved Documentation: Our documentation has been thoroughly updated to provide clear guidelines for integrating these new European data streams.
