MOBVEC: a mobile laboratory to combat mosquito-borne diseases

Nazka Mapps is part of a consortium developing an innovative mobile laboratory to combat mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue. This laboratory combines smart traps, citizen science, field measurements, clinical data and Earth observation data to provide rapid response during outbreaks and effectively support responders. The MOBVEC digital platform, which is being developed by Nazka Mapps, collects and visualizes multiple data streams including an overview of the environment, planning the trap sampling strategy, real-time results and lab data, and epidemiological and risk maps. The mobile biological lab to support first response in Arbovirus outbreaks (MOBVEC) is funded within a European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement № 101099283.
